What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreBen loves the feeling of stepping onto the soccer field and knowing there's always another opportunity to improve. He loves competing, creating plays, scoring, and celebrating alongside his teammates, but most of all, he loves the challenge. Soccer gives him a place to push himself beyond what he thought he could do. Every practice, game, win, and loss teaches him something, and his love for the sport only continues to grow.
My mom inspires me most, on and off the field. She has taught me to keep going when things get difficult, believe in myself when I have doubts, and never let setbacks decide what I’m capable of. She always reminds me that hard work matters, but being kind, humble, and respectful matters even more. Watching her face challenges and keep moving forward inspires me to do the same, in soccer and in life.
My proudest moment wasn't a goal or a win. It was watching Ben choose perseverance when soccer became difficult. After experiencing moments that shook his confidence, he could have walked away. Instead, he trained harder, kept believing in himself, and earned an opportunity with Barça Academy. Watching him turn disappointment into motivation showed me the athlete, and young man, he is becoming. That resilience makes me prouder than any trophy ever could.
