What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He loves seeing how much he improves day by day. His dedication to training two hours a day, five days a week, continues to sharpen his boxing skills and build his confidence. He is always challenging himself to be better than he was yesterday, whether it's beating his personal record in jump rope, sit-ups, or push-ups. His determination, discipline, and strong work ethic at such a young age truly set him apart.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Santiago is inspired by some of boxing's greatest champions, including Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Julio César Chávez, and Saúl 'Canelo' Álvarez. He enjoys watching documentaries about their lives to learn about their upbringing, the challenges they overcame, and the dedication it took for them to become world champions. Their stories motivate him to work hard, stay disciplined, and believe that with perseverance, he can achieve his own dreams.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments as a parent has been watching Santiago learn to believe in himself. Boxing has taught him that setbacks are part of the journey, and I always remind him that if he gets knocked down, he can get back up, keep fighting, and give it everything he has. Seeing him grow in confidence, resilience, and determination has been one of the greatest rewards of this journey.
