What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Aanya loves trying new things and meeting new people in every team she is on. She loves leading teams and supporting everyone around her. Her goal is to get 1% everyday even if it just doing an extra push up.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Someone who inspires Aanya is Simone Biles because of the passion she showed to gymnastics even though she had a rough childhood and has been through much scarier things like abuse in many ways. Dodging all those difficulties Simone Biles is one of the best female gymnasts today. This inspires Aanya to put in her best everywhere and puts negatives experiences behind her.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of Aanya’s best moments of in a game was the semi final game of her cyo volleyball team. They had lost the first set and if they wanted to win they had to do their best on the second set. Aanya made sure the whole team was hyped and she made sure not to miss even a serve. In the end they ended up winning that set! Her team ended up losing the third set and lost the game, but the coaches and everyone was so proud of us for putting in our best for that second set.
