What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Basketball has ignited a fire within him that is grounded in his passion for living. He feels most alive on the court. It is fun, allows him to meet and engage with like-minded athletes while stretching him beyond his comfort zone and limits. Basketball is healthy for his body/condition, mind, soul, and Spirit. He enjoys seeing the fruits of his dedication, discipline, and hard-work as weaknesses get strengthened and he grows in skill and ability on and off the court, at home and school.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Although Poyton Pritchard is an athlete he admires for his work ethics and accomplishments despite being undersized, the persons who inspire him are his family. For example, his dad and older brother.. With limited resources they have accomplished the most they can and use what they have obtained and learned (life's experiences and wisdom) to pour into him. It is their love & belief in him that inspires him.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Aaron tried out for his schools 7th grade basketball team and did not make the team- the summer that followed he seeked help from his dad and brother- he humbly accepted correction, trained, practiced, and learned. The following year he made the 8th grade team- he played every game -giving it all he had. End of season he was the team's strongest defense and got the Most Improved Player Award. That Spring he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. He continues to give it all he has.
