She loves to compete. Being smaller than most athletes her age, she’s often underestimated—but that only fuels her fire. She thrives on proving people wrong and showing the heart, hustle, and potential she brings to the game. Every time she steps on the field or track, it’s her chance to shine and remind others that size doesn’t measure passion or grit.
Her Parents! We’ve always pushed her to work hard, stay positive, and focus on what she can control: her attitude, her effort, and her game. We constantly remind her, ‘It’s your ball, your play—run your game.’ She can’t control her teammates or coaches, but she can control how she shows up, and that’s what we teach her to focus on.
She rolled her ankle on Thursday at a basketball game before a big soccer tournament. Her first words were, ‘Am I going to miss the tournament?’ She iced it, did Epsom soaks, and hoped to play—but the pain didn’t go away. Even though she couldn’t suit up, she still showed up to cheer for her team. That heart and dedication made me so proud.
