I am a quiet and very reserved person, but as an athlete, I find my voice and confidence whether it is on the pitch, court or track. Being involved in sports has taught me so much more than just the sport itself. I’ve grown not only as a player but as a person learning valuable life skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership.
She has numerous people who inspire her, the most obvious are Lionel Messi and Alex Morgan. It’s athletes who have faced adversity though who give her the most inspiration. She has been involved with Special Olympics Unified Bocce for the last three years, and being able to serve as a role model and be inclusive of athletes with special needs has been so inspiring for her. Many kids her age shy away from athletes with special needs, but not her. So very proud of her.
My daughter is tough as nails. Every parent thinks that but she has some health issues making her unique, not limitations, just things that make her work harder. Unknowingly, she played with an avulsion fracture for months. She never once complained and was devastated to be sidelined for months. She continued to be positive supporting her team while working through PT and came back more determined than ever. She isn’t your typical loud leader, but leads with poise and by example.
