What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

I like riding in the hunter ring because it’s fun and makes me feel proud. I get to ride my horse over jumps which is so exciting. I like when my horse listens to me and we work together as a team. It feels really special when we do a good round and everyone claps. I like wearing my show clothes and getting ready with my friends, and it makes me happy when my horse does his best.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

I am inspired to ride because I love horses and how they make me feel happy. My coaches inspire me a lot because they teach me how to ride better and believe in me even when things are hard. They are kind and patient, and they help me and my pony work as a team. I have a really special bond with Archie. He knows when I’m nervous and helps me feel calm. I love spending time with him, brushing him and giving him treats, and I can tell he trusts me too.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest achievements was winning champion in the Walk/Trot division. I worked really hard with Archie to ride my best, and it felt amazing when they called our names. I was so happy and proud because I knew all the practice paid off. I was also really excited when I got 3rd place in my Crossrail class it was my first time showing over jumps, and I was a little nervous, but my pony was really good and helped me feel confident. That day made me feel like I can do anything!
