Akeem loves the excitement of the game, being part of a team, and pushing himself to improve. Football is where he feels strongest and most confident—he truly lights up on the field. He walks, talks, and breathes football. While he enjoys soccer, basketball, and learning to swim, football is his true passion. His biggest dream is to play in the NFL one day.
His biggest inspiration is his dad, a former basketball college star, who teaches him the value of hard work, discipline, and staying humble. His dad’s example motivates him to push himself in every sport. On the football field, he looks up to Justin Jefferson and Russell Wilson for their skill, leadership, and heart fueling his own dream of one day playing in the NFL.
One of my proudest moments was during Akeem’s last NFL Flag football season. His team finished in second place, and even though they didn’t win it all, he showed incredible maturity. Instead of being upset, he supported his teammates, stayed positive, and handled the loss like a true leader. It was a moment that showed his growth both on and off the field.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
