What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Alesso loves playing baseball because it’s where he feels most confident and connected. He’s built amazing friendships through the game, and being part of a team gives him a sense of belonging. Baseball is something he knows he’s really good at—it comes naturally to him, and that makes it fun. Every game gives him a chance to grow, compete, and bond with his teammates. For Alesso, baseball is more than a sport—it’s a place where he shines and feels truly himself.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

On the field, Alesso is inspired by Derek Jeter and Aaron Judge—two players he looks up to for their leadership, skill, and class. He admires the way they carry themselves, both as athletes and as teammates, and strives to play the game with that same passion and respect. Off the field, his biggest inspiration is his dad. Whether he’s out fighting fires, leading scouts, or playing the saxophone, Alesso sees how hardworking, talented, and devoted his dad is—and wants to be just like him.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the things that makes me proudest of Alesso isn’t a single moment—it’s how far he’s come. He’s incredibly coachable, always listening carefully and executing exactly what his coaches ask of him. That kind of focus and respect is rare, especially at his age. I’m proud of how well he handles both the highs and lows—he keeps his emotions in check and shows true sportsmanship, even in tough losses. Watching him grow into such a thoughtful, disciplined player has been a gift.
