Thank you for generously supporting Alexis in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
Alexis loves being able to be a role model for the younger athletes and genuinely enjoys the relationships she builds, teammates and competitors alike.
Alexis idolizes the great female track elites, like Sha'Carri Richardson and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. Seeing black and brown women excel at the top of the sports world means everything to her, because she sees herself reflected in their dedication and drive.
Alexis never gives up, even when the odds are against her. She competed in high jump for the first time 10 minutes after an injury she received while running 200m hurdles. She got up, finished that race (didn't let the other girl beat her!), and went right over to high jump with so much poise and concentration, you'd never believe she had fallen if she wasn't covered in cuts and bruises. Watching Alexis grow as an athlete and a young woman in that moment, I've never been more proud.
