She loves being part of an elite group that possesses a unique set of skills—things that most people can’t do. It gives her a sense of pride, confidence, and accomplishment to be able to master such challenging movements and skills while being surrounded by others who share that same dedication and passion.
Aleyka draws a lot of inspiration and motivation from her peers in gymnastics. Watching her teammates push their limits and achieve new skills fuels her own drive to improve. Their progress challenges her in a positive way—it encourages her to train harder, stay focused, and set personal goals so she can grow and move up alongside them. Being surrounded by such dedicated and talented individuals helps her believe in what’s possible and pushes her to reach her full potential.
One of the moments that makes me most proud is seeing Aleyka cheer on her teammates and genuinely celebrate their successes. It shows her kindness, humility, and love for the sport. I’m equally proud when she accomplishes a new skill and lights up with pride—not from comparison, but from knowing how hard she worked to get there. Those moments remind me that she’s growing not just as an athlete, but as a person.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
