He loves the feeling of being part of a team, cheering each other on, celebrating wins and learning from losses. He light up when he’s on the field not just because he loves to play but because it’s where he feels most like himself. The crack of the bat, the rush and the high-fives in the dugout it all makes him feel alive and connected to something bigger than himself.
His biggest inspiration is his grandpa who played baseball in Mexico. Hearing his stories lit the fire in him from a young age. He looks up to him not just for his talent but for the pride, discipline and love for the game he passed down. Every time my son steps onto the field he plays to honor that legacy and make his grandpa proud.
There was a game where down by a few runs and most of the boys were ready to give up, but my son stood up, rallied his team and reminded them why they started playing in the first place they ended up turning the game around not just because of skill, but because of heart watching him lead with passion, resilience. It wasn’t about the win. It was about the way he lifted others up and refused to quit.
