What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

I love how acrobatic gymnastics challenges me to learn new tricks and perfect difficult moves. Every time I master a flip or a new routine, I feel super proud and excited. It’s also fun to work with my teammates and support each other. I love the feeling of improving and pushing myself beyond what I thought was possible. This sport makes me happy and keeps me motivated to get even better every day.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

I look up to Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, and my partner because they’re brown girls who worked super hard to achieve their dreams in gymnastics. They inspire me to keep trying, even when things are hard. My mom also inspires me because she’s always working toward her goals and teaches me that I can do anything I believe in if I stay focused and never give up. They all make me believe I can be great too.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest moments are when I was surprised with the Glen Sunby award at nationals, when I was chosen to represent the USA internationally, and when I was selected to be apart of the prestigious PAGU team competing in Puerto Rico representing team USA. These achievements made me feel so proud of my hard work and dedication. They show me I can do anything I set my mind to and motivate me to keep reaching for my dreams!
