Join the CompetitionAmaya says, "she loves how sports has taught her how to recognize the environment she wants to be in and the kind of people she wants to surround herself with. She enjoys spending time with her teammates, mentors and trainers. She loves learning to adapt in game situations and evolve as a player and a person. Sports also push her to strive for physical and mental wellness daily.
Amaya loves watching Paige Bueckers, Jordy Bahl, and other athletes including her coaches who have played throughout high-school and college. Watching these other athletes and listening to their advice allows her to motivate herself to play every game like its her last and strive to be better than she was the game before with her attitude and effort.
We are extremely proud of her athletic accomplishments but; as parents it is the growth amaya has made as a person through sports that we are most proud of. She has overcome several personal adversities and losses this year. Amaya's ability to adapt and persevere in basketball and softball as well learn as her ability to learn volleyball, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in advanced classes has made us extremely proud. We often forget shes still only 12.
