I’ve been playing football for 9 years, and what I love most is how it pushes me to grow mentally and physically. The game teaches me discipline, leadership, and how to fight through adversity. I love the brotherhood, the competition, and the feeling of working hard with my team toward one goal. Football gives me purpose and fuels my drive on and off the field.
One person who really inspires me is A.J. Green. He came from Summerville, South Carolina, a small town where football didn’t get much attention. He became a 5-star recruit, starred at Georgia, and was a 7-time Pro Bowl NFL receiver. I admire how he stayed focused and never let his background stop him. Off the field, he gives back through 7v7 teams and his YouTube channel, helping young players get noticed. His journey pushes me to dream big and uplift others.
One of the toughest obstacles in my journey became one of the most important. After breaking my wrist, I couldn’t play, however, I showed up every day, motivating teammates, analyzing plays, and bringing energy to practices and games. Despite the setback, I refused to let the injury shake my passion. That experience taught me leadership isn’t just on the field it’s proven in adversity. I never gave up on my team nor myself.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
