My daughter loves playing softball because it gives her a chance to compete, lead, and grow with her teammates. As a catcher, she thrives on being in the heart of the action. She loves making new friends, cheering others on, and sharing her faith through the game. Watching her teammates grow alongside her brings her so much joy. Softball isn’t just a sport to her—it’s where she finds friendship, confidence, and a place to be her true self.
She’s inspired by the game because it’s in her blood—both her mom and dad played, and now it’s her turn to carry the legacy. She loves the grind: the early mornings, tough practices, and hard-earned wins. She finds motivation in the challenge, pushes through failure, and always gives her all. Knowing her parents once stood behind the plate or on the field just like she does now drives her to be better every day and love the game even more.
One of my proudest moments was watching her hit her first home run and throw a shutout of stolen bases in the same game. She owned the field with confidence, power, and heart. Seeing her round the bases with a smile and then lock in behind the plate to shut down every runner showed her grit, growth, and love for the game. It was the kind of moment that reminded me just how special her journey really is.
