The mat exposes weakness and builds character. Every match, every roll, I get better. Pressure builds champions — and I’m here for it.
My mom inspires me every single day. I watch her work hard, sacrifice, and keep going no matter what life throws at her. That kind of strength is what I try to carry with me in everything I do — in wrestling, jiu-jitsu, school, and life. Through it all, I lean on my faith to stay grounded. One of the proudest moments was watching my son take 2nd in the Maui Interscholastic League and qualify for states — as a freshman in his first year wrestling. The medal isn’t what makes me proud — it’s what it took to get there, the daily grind. He wakes up early to run, goes to church for seminary before school, and still shows up to wrestling and jiu-jitsu after. That’s heart. That’s discipline. That’s the kind of man he’s becoming.
