Anela loves her position almost as much as the sport. She thrives under pressure and sees challenges as exciting opportunities. Anela chases the adrenaline and improving by 1% each time she touches the pitch. She loves saving the day when hope seems lost and contributing to her team.
Grit, grind and leadership she’s learned from her Dad. They share a Gigi-Kobe like bond that grows stronger each time she touches the pitch. He’s taught her accountability equally through love and tough love. Her eyes scream super hero when she sees her dad humbly leading at home and with his work.
It wasn’t at a game or at practice. We were at home, it was after dark. Outside my bedroom window I found Anela working on her dives for hours until the grunts became loud enough for the neighbors to hear and called her inside. She said homework isn’t just at school, it counts for soccer too.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
