Annemarie loves basketball because it challenges her to be her best—physically, mentally, and emotionally. She thrives on the fast pace, the strategy, and the teamwork it takes to win. The court is where she feels most confident and free, a place where she can express herself, grow, and lead. She loves the bond with her teammates, the thrill of competition, and the chance to keep improving every day. Basketball has taught her discipline, resilience, and the value of hard work.
On the court, Annemarie is inspired by her coach and trainer Jaylin Chinn, whose guidance and belief in her push her to excel. She also looks up to professional athlete Jackie Young—her family member—whose success, work ethic, and humility show her what’s possible. Off the court, her greatest role model is her mom, LaToya Johnson, who raised four amazing children with love, strength, and sacrifice. Annemarie made us proud starting varsity as a freshman, but even more so by balancing it with honor roll grades, volunteering at school and with seniors, launching her own clothing line, and staying rooted in her faith. She leads with heart, purpose, and strength—always serving God while inspiring others through her actions on and off the court.
