Anthony (AJ) has had a ball in his hands since birth. He loves basketball. He works hard and plans to play college ball. He is ranked.

Anthony loves being part of a team that is working towards the same goal. To win is a bonus. The skill it and thought that it requires just to play is what makes it fun and also challenging. Anthony studies different offenses, and ways to improve his defense against those various offenses and then applies it to the game. He is always focused on improving his game. As a freshman on varsity, in the Point Guard position, he worked hard to get each and every player involved.
Anthony has always looked up to Kevin Durant. He always says, “ he can carry a team.” He aspires to be able to lead in the same ways as KD. He also soaks up knowledge from the various coaches in his life, as well as his father who handed him a ball as soon as he was able to hold one.
The most memorable moment in Anthony’s basketball journey is when he lead his team to a city wide victory and was named, “Player of the Year, “ in the process. They were not the favored team. However, Anthony, sick with a fever, was determined to get the win. He lead the team in points, assists, and steals!!! Anthony will have a banner hanging in the Southern Middle School gym forever, for future players to see.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
