Antonio is a baseball player! He loves just getting out on the field...taking reps, running drills, batting practice. Being in the dugout with his team mates, chanting for his team or against the other team. He loves the feeling he gets when he sees the first pitch and realizes "I can hit that".
Antonio (Tony) is inspired by two baseball players Jose Altuve and Jazz Chisholm Jr. In his words "I love how they may not be the strongest or biggest players but you wouldn't know that". The grit and passion they have for their sport inspires Tony. He also is inspired by Kobe Bryants "Mamba Mentality", doing the talentless tasks each day to improve in what you love. Make your dream your passion. On the field all off his coaches bring a passion to the game that he knows he has to exceed.
Tony has had quite the baseball journey. Going from a player who has potential and always on the cusp, to the player who out hustled and left everything on the practice field to earn starting positions. One of my proudest moments was watching Tony in the FL State little league tournament. Down 2-1 in the bottom of the 5th my boy hit a homerun to bring in 2 runners and start the game changing rally. He batted leadoff in that tournament, setting the tone for the team.
