Receive Text UpdatesAria pushes herself to reach new goals in swimming. But what she enjoys most is traveling and meeting fellow athletes. She's built lasting friendships with swimmers from across Indiana- something she looks forward to with every new season.
Aria is motivated by some of swimming's most accomplished athletes- like Simone Manuel, Gretchen Walsh and Torri Huske. Outside of the pool, she looks up to gymnast Simone Biles for her strength and grace under pressure. Aria is inspired by the people closest to her- her teammates, coaches, parents and beloved Mimi- who support her unconditionally through all of the highs and lows.
One of my proudest moments as a parent came earlier this season, when Aria swam in 47-degree temperatures at her first outdoor meet. Despite the cold and tears, she pushed through the discomfort and gave it her all. That meet was a true display of mental toughness and determination to persevere- qualities that define her both in and out of the pool.
