What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Ariana loves the challenge that sports bring as well the friendships and relationships built through sports, especially the team atmosphere of hockey. She enjoys challenging herself to improve her skillsets and continue to reach the next level, along with the thrill of competition, as well as playing a wide variety of sports, especially at the varsity level where she gets to compete against athletes that are older than her. She loves being a versatile athlete who competes in numerous sports.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her parents are her inspiration on and off the field & ice. Both her parents were high level athletes in their sports and continue to encourage her to push herself and work toward her goals. Her father played, worked in, and now coaches hockey and has been a driving force in her love for the game and her drive to enhance her skills and move up the levels. Her mother, a former gymnast, has helped her to build the love of competition, and aided her in representing Canada numerous times in soccer.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Ariana has achieved a lot in her athletic journey thus far including championships, gold medals, representing Canada at the CANUSA games, and numerous awards. One moment that stands out as the proudest was when she was recognized for her ability and her accomplishments and was awarded Athlete of the Year at school. She was the only athlete to play on every sports team the school offered and won multiple team championships and individual gold medals. Seeing her light up was a moment won't forget.
