You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Roman loves that baseball is a team sport and together as a team you can overcome so much, but even as team sport he loves that so much rides on individual skill and ability and loves to showcase his talent and watch his teammates do the same.
Christopher Sanchez, pitcher for the Phillies. Roman is inspired about Sanchez’s journey to the majors. How he spent 11 years in the minors, working on everything he was told to work on, sticking through it and being resilient and finally making it into the majors to be an amazing pitcher.
Roman had a tourney where it was over 95° and humid, had 3 games and except for one inning in the second game of the day and the second half of the third game where he pitched he was catcher. He pushed through the physical and mental fatigue of the heat and multiple games in catchers gear without complaint, working hard and helping his teammates to win the tournament. Seeing his mental fortitude to push through being overheated and working so hard made me so proud of my 12 year old son.
