What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

She loves the intensity and fast pace of being in the goal. Every situation is different and every shot challenges her in a different way. She loves the challenge and especially loves taking on an opponent 1v1. She loves playing with and for her teammates. They are all super close and that pushes her to be the best that she can be for them.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

She said that her parents inspire her the most. They work so hard to allow my siblings and I the opportunity to play soccer, dance and do the things we love. They push me to be the best that I can be, even if I have moments when I don’t believe in myself. They are my biggest supporters and my examples of hard work, perseverance and consistency!

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

She was playing a game in the Bay Area last year, she charged a girl 1v1, blocked the shot, but got kicked in the ribs full force. It looked terrible and she said it was the worst pain she has ever experienced. Her team rallied around her as she laid on the field. In that moment, she decided that no matter how she felt, she needed to fight through for them! She was able to finish the rest of the game, and despite a bruised rib, played amazing, earning the respect of her team and the parents!
