What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

She loves the challenge of being better than the last time she was on the mat. She loves that the cheer grows and changes every year and new tumbling and stunting is added so they continue to learn new things.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My parents. They chose to adopt me as an infant and have always encouraged me to do my best. When I feel like I can’t do something they remind me what I overcame and that I’m made to do hard things. Their faith in me gives me the courage to push myself and has helped make me the athlete I am.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Audrey was injured last year. She pushed herself to recover, to follow the drs orders, to graduate from PT and be released from the spine doctor. She said she would cheer again even though they said the injury might not allow it. She stayed focused, she believed in herself and she worked hard to not only recover, but to make her elite high school team as an incoming freshman. She relied on her physical strength and her spiritual strength to get her through the hard days and come back stronger.
