I am inspired by my oldest sister. Savanna was born with cleft pallet , and has had over 38 surgeries over her lifetime to correct it. Through her, I have learned the valuable lesson of being mentally strong, never giving up, and never let someone else’s opinion affect who you are as a person. Going through something like this at such a young age can really take a toll on an individual, so being able to grow old with her and see her go through these events has inspired me immensely.
This past week, Aurie traveled to Pula, Croatia, competing with a select 17U team representing USA in the World Global Challenge. Aurie was a force on the net as a setter and a right side hitter, contributing to the teams success of 19-1 and winning the championship. Team CPA USA won the title as World Leader’s and made several new friends with teams they played against. She was heard on audio of the games cheering her teammates on while off the court, leading her team as a setter on the court.
