What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

She loves the freedom she feels when she runs — like she’s in her own world and nothing can stop her. She thrives on the challenge of pushing herself to go faster each time and feels proud when she beats her own records. But most of all, she loves being part of a team, cheering others on, and knowing they’re all working hard together. It gives her confidence, focus, and a place where she truly shines.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

She’s most inspired by her mom — not just because of the support and love she gets at every meet, but because she sees strength, determination, and grace in her every day. On the track, she looks up to athletes who work hard and stay humble, like Sha’Carri Richardson. Seeing someone who looks like her, who overcame challenges and stayed true to herself, makes her believe she can do anything too.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the proudest moments was when she finished a tough race that she was clearly struggling in—but instead of giving up, she pushed through with determination in her eyes and crossed that finish line strong. She didn’t win first place, but she showed heart, grit, and maturity beyond her years. It wasn’t about the medal—it was about the fight in her. In that moment, we saw the kind of young woman she’s becoming, and we couldn’t have been more proud.
