I love soccer because it’s really fun and exciting! I like playing with my team because they always cheer me on and support me. It can be hard sometimes, but that just makes me want to try even more. I always feel happy when I’m on the field. Soccer is my favorite sport because it makes me feel strong, fast, and like I can do anything!
My dad inspires me because he helps me at home and teaches me. My older sister inspires me too because she practices with me and cheers me on. My coaches are really awesome because they tell me to keep going and never give up. They always say to try your best and never stop until the whistle blows. All of them help me believe in myself and be the best I can be. That’s why they inspire me!
Ava’s standout moment was her first year trying out for Academy. Though she didn’t make the higher-level team due to confidence & nerves, she didn’t give up. She rose to the challenge, proved herself, and grew in confidence, becoming a team leader. Her hard work paid off when she earned a spot on the top team the next year. She proved her ability to her coach—but more importantly, to herself—and became a stronger, more confident player.
