Ava's father still plays competitive baseball, so the connection between baseball and softball plays a big role. She absolutely loves being in control of the game as a pitcher and she has really enjoyed learning all of the different parts of the game.
She is a big fan of NiJaree Canady and with the growing popularity of Women's softball, Ava has been following a lot of the players from both college and the AUSL. Ava constantly says that she wants to be on ESPN one day. Off the field, I would say that her father is a big inspiration to her. They are constantly together playing all sorts of sports and games.
We are most proud of Ava's journey and work ethic these past 12 months. Ava lost her championship game last year and was devastated. Her father offered to set her up for complete success if she promised to work hard through entire process. Since then, Ava works with a private pitching coach and plays on 3 softball teams(rec, travel, and club). In 50 innings pitched this year, Ava had 139 K'S and given up only 7 hits. Huge transformation and her hitting is even better. Ava is so deserving of this
