Softball is her passion, her escape, and her joy. She lives for the sound of the ball hitting the glove, the rush of a perfectly timed play, and the thrill of diving for a grounder just out of reach. She makes the game a part of her and she loves most when everyone else can see it too.
My dad, he’s always encouraging, no matter what in good and bad plays he’s always their to uplift me and remind to focus and move on to strive for better. Softball makes her feel strong, focused, and happy—and that feeling drives her to keep pushing, keep playing, and keep loving the game.
At 9 years old, she hit her first over-the-fence home run; the rush of power, pride, and joy all at once hits me. The crack of the bat, the soaring ball, and the cheers from her coaches and teammates created a moment she’ll never forget. Through it all she’s amazed me at staying so humble and has encouraged everyone around her to achieve and work hard for the same goal.
