What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Avery is driven by an internal passion to excel & break records. He loves when he achieves a personal best but what brings him the most joy is the friendships & relationships he makes in his team sports. Track & field is very individualized sport so Avery leans in to the friends he makes when he plays baseball & flag football. He loves when he's able to show off his speed as a running back, scoring the most touchdowns for his football team & he loves stealing bases & scoring runs in baseball.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

If you ask Avery where he gets his speed from, he will immediately respond with "From Jesus". On and off the field, Avery loves glorifying God with his athletic gifts. He has also built strong relationships with athletes older than him. In all three of his sports, athletes from 12 to 18 have taken Avery under their wing, worked out with him to push him harder & mentored him to help him grow as an athlete of integrity and excellence.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The climax of Avery's athletic career (so far) happened at the 2025 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships when Avery achieved a triple crown, winning first place gold medals in ALL THREE of his individual events, the 100m, 200m and long jump. 7,000+ athletes participated in the Junior Olympics across 250+ events and only 2 athletes achieved triple crown status in three individual events. Mom, Dad, baby sister and baby brother are so proud of you Avery!
