Join the CompetitionAvery loves being part of a team, making friends, and growing as an athlete on and off the ice. Like any seven-year-old, he loves to win—but he’s learning that sportsmanship, effort, and fair play matter even more.
Jacob Newcombe, former Cape Breton Eagles captain, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after his first season. To show support, Avery held a lemonade stand and raised nearly $700. The two became fast friends and still keep in touch. Now playing for the University of New Hampshire, Jacob remains a role model—someone Avery continues to look up to and strives to make proud, both on and off the ice.
We’re proud of his goals and wins, but even more proud of his kindness. He helps teammates understand drills, checks in on others, picks up dropped sticks, and always looks out for those around him. He leads with heart.
