What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What our son loves most about hockey isn’t just the game—it’s the friendships he’s built and the meaningful bonds he’s formed with his coaches. He thrives on learning new skills and embracing every tip that helps him grow, both as a player and a person. He takes pride in lifting up his teammates, offering a helping hand when needed, and leading by example every time he steps on the ice. His passion goes beyond scoring goals—it’s about becoming a true teammate and leader.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Our son’s AAA coach has been a constant presence since day one—guiding him from his very first steps on the ice. He’s played a key role in shaping Blake into the hockey player he is today. Whether it’s taking extra time to correct his form or simply being there as a mentor, his support goes far beyond hockey. Blake knows he can always count on him, both on and off the ice.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of our proudest moments so far was when he scored his very first goal. The pure joy on his face as he skated by, pointing at us with the biggest smile, is something we’ll never forget. After the game, he ran up and said, “Mom, this is awesome!”—and in that moment, we knew just how much the game meant to him. Watching his hard work and passion come together like that filled our hearts with pride.
