Blake loves the fun of competition, but what he really enjoys most about playing his sport is being part of a team, working hard, and seeing his progress pay off. He lights up when he’s out there, giving it his all and having fun doing what he loves.
Blake is inspired by his dad, both on and off the field. He sees how hard his dad works every day, never giving up no matter how tough things get. That kind of dedication and strength pushes Blake to work harder, stay focused, and be the best teammate and player he can be. His dad shows him what it means to lead by example, and Blake carries that with him every time he steps on or off the field.
One moment in Blake’s athletic journey that makes me the proudest was watching him shake off a tough loss with his head held high. Instead of getting upset, he encouraged his teammates, stayed positive, and reminded everyone that it’s all about learning and growing. That showed me he’s not just becoming a great athlete—but a strong, kind leader. As his mom, there’s nothing better than seeing his heart shine through like that.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
