What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Boone loves to challenge himself & push his teammates so they can be the best they can all be. He loves the friendships that are built each season & the support they give each other. He loves the feel of catching a pop fly, making contact with that bat, pinning a tough opponent in the third round after a battle, catching the football and breaking ankles to score a touchdown, watching that pass connect with a receiver. He loves the spirit of competition on the field, in the gym, & on the mat.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Patrick Mahomes is Boone’s favorite player and inspiration. He sees the great things Patrick has done in the game and strives to follow in his footsteps. He has adopted the nickname Boonie Mahomes and often sports the same haircut. But most importantly he works hard just as he knows Mahomes must do to accomplish all he has. He also looks up to Travis Kelce and the Chiefs in general.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

What makes me the most proud is to watch my son try new things even when he is unsure. He goes hard and wants to do well. I have seen him get in his own head and bring himself down, but what makes me so proud is to have seen him battle his way through those times and come out stronger, tougher, and better than before. Seeing his growth each season and love of each game grow is fun to watch.
