You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Brody loves to be on the field/court with his teams whether it’s practice or games. He operates with the mentality that you practice like it’s a game. There’s no difference. He loves to see hard work pay off.
Brody has natural talent in almost everything he does, but is always wanting to learn more. His dad played all the same sports, setting school records in all of them. They work together year round to better Brody’s knowledge and abilities, as well as his character. Brody knows his dad is there to cheer him on through the good times and guide him through the tough times.
We focus just as much on character and handling adversity as we do the game. Brody used to get very upset after striking out or getting out in general. Recently, he struck out at a tournament and instead of getting mad, he told his dad “I know what I need to do to fix it” and moved on. He made 2/3 outs in the next inning at second base. I knew then that he is not only growing as a player, but also mentally, being able to face adversity with his chin up.
