What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

CJ thrives on the competition and the challenge, but even more, he loves how the sport helps him grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. He enjoy the discipline of training, the rush of game day, and the friendships that come from shared effort and respect. For them, the sport is not just an activity it’s a place where he feels confident and, motivated. He also loves that if he continues to work hard he can go to to D1 or Juco school with making good grades and keeping a positive attitude!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

First, I couldn't do it without God. Also, I inspire my own progress. He said," he looks back at where he started and realize how far he came." He always said mom, dad you remember when I couldn't shoot a shot. I made a air ball as a lay up, and a jump shot as a free throw. He said and the best moment is I traveled the ball every game. Now mom and dad I have a better confidence, in skill, and in mindset. Jamari Person is also one of my inspirations. He shows integrity on and off the field daily.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

It was how CJ handled a tough loss. After a heartbreaking defeat in a game he trained months for, instead of breaking down or blaming others, he shook hands with the other team, thanked his coach, and encouraged his teammates. I’ll never forget the moment he finally achieved a personal milestone he has been working toward every season, a new time, a tough skill, or making a starting lineup. It wasn’t easy, but he stuck with it through self-doubt and setbacks. His joy and pride was unforgettable.
