Thank you for generously supporting Caleb in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
Caleb loves sports not only because they're fun but also because he gets to connect with others. Caleb is generally reserved, so sports allows him to be a little more social and strengthen bonds with his peers.
Caleb is inspired by, the great, Kobe Bryant. Caleb loves Kobe's relentlessness and how Kobe's work ethic forced everyone around him to be better. Caleb begged us to buy him "Mamba Mentality, How I Play", Kobe Bryant's book. He's read it cover-to-cover and aspires to be the athlete and inspiration Kobe was.
I'm very proud Caleb tried baseball again. Overall, he wasn't pleased with his first experience. However, Caleb pushed past his reservations and tried again. This time, building strong bonds with his team mates and making the winning play for his team's championship win. Allowing them to participate in a ceremony at our home team's stadium, Camden Yards, in Baltimore. He and his team also secured a win for their rec team that year. It was a testament to what can be done when you persevere.
