What CaMari loves most about playing tackle football is the thrill of the game, especially after making big tackles. He lights up when he puts on his pads and helmet; it gives him a sense of strength and confidence. Being part of a team means everything to him. He loves the bond with his teammates, the excitement on the field, and the way they all cheer each other on. Football makes him feel brave, fast, and proud!
On and off the field, his biggest inspirations are his parents and the NFL players he looks up to. He sees how hard we work, how we encourage him, and how we always show up, whether it’s practice, game day, or just life and that pushes him to give his best, too. But when he watches the NFL, his eyes light up. He studies how the pros play, how they never quit, and how they work together as a team. He’ll say things like, “Did you see that tackle?” or “I’m gonna run like that one day!”
Last season, CaMari played lineman and had an unforgettable moment. The opposing quarterback broke free and was close to scoring, but CaMari chased him down and made a crucial tackle. His teammates and coaches cheered, and even the other team’s coach walked over to praise him. We were so proud! His effort and heart truly stood out that day.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
