Join the CompetitionCameron loves being part of a team. Flag football, little league baseball and especially basketball has taught him — at 8-years old — that “team” is greater than self. Cameron believes each person has to be selfless, disciplined, and passionate to achieve their goals. He loves making the extra pass to set up his teammates for easy buckets. Cameron also enjoys going hard to the rack for layups and sinking open jumpers.
Cameron’s basketball coach, Zach Kuba, inspires him the most on and off the hardwood. Cameron fell in love with the game at Coach Kuba’s basketball clinic at Hackley School during Winter ‘23 and hasn’t looked back. Cameron has played basketball every season since while also participating in other sports. Cameron has sat on the bench with Kuba’s varsity squad at games and hopes to one day suit up for Coach Kuba’s team!
I’m most proud of the work Cameron puts in and how much he loves the game. Every Sunday this summer, he’s been waking up at 5:45 a.m. to get to the gym by 6:30 a.m. He trains for two hours working on his fundamentals with a big emphasis on his shooting and ball handling. A few days after basketball camp, one of his coaches texted me and said, “Cam is a great kid.” As a dad, there’s no better compliment.
