What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

I love watching my daughter play sports because she enjoys how they bring people together through teamwork and shared goals. Being part of a team creates strong bonds for her, making games and practices more fun. Sports turn exercise into something competitive and enjoyable, keeping her motivated to stay active. Whether winning or learning from losses, doing it with others makes the experience meaningful and rewarding for her.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her brothers have always inspired her. Her oldest is a kind, driven people person who gives his all in biking, hiking, camping, and his engineering career. Her middle brother, a soon-to-be Division II pole-vaulter, is fiercely competitive and never lets others hold him back. Dinner time often meant supporting each other through challenges in sports. They grew up as a team, lifting each other up and bonding through fun games like “chicken fights” at the lake.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

What makes me proudest of my child’s sports career is their determination and passion. They always strive to do their best and never lose heart when things get tough. Instead, they push harder to improve. Whether in challenging volleyball drills or intense games, they give their all and never give up. Even when they pause pole vaulting to run a 400, they come back stronger and keep setting personal records. Their resilience inspires me every day.
