What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

The unrivaled thrill of relentless defense and the incredible synergy of a cohesive team. Carlie loves diving for an impossible dig, keeping rallies alive, and fueling her team's fire. As a libero/DS, she constantly challenges herself to read the game, anticipate, and execute under pressure. It's about pushing limits and contributing to something bigger. The camaraderie, shared ambition, and pure joy of competing with teammates—that’s what makes every moment on court pure magic for her.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Carlie's mother, Kristie. Beyond professional leadership, her dedication as a mom is profound. She works all day, drives Carlie 1.5 hours to St. Louis twice weekly for volleyball, balancing raising Carlie and her twin. Kristie lives that striving for excellence requires dedication and discipline. Carlie witnesses her work ethic daily. A former college athlete, Kristie navigates high-stakes environments with composure—a trait Carloe admires. She's Carlie's ultimate role model.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Carlie's first All-American Camp in London. Under immense pressure—new country, influential eyes, an Olympic coach, and personal sacrifices—Carlie thrived with composure and grace. Rallying her team, she showed leadership beyond her years. Receiving "Most Valuable Teammate" filled her mother with immense pride, revealing Carlie's innate strength mirroring Kristie's resilience. This felt like a 'passing of the torch,' affirming Carlie's effort was coming to fruition, proving her talent.
