He loves the excitement every time he steps on the field, the bond he shares with his teammates, and the challenge of pushing himself to be better. But what he loves most is carrying on the legacy. Knowing his dad and older brother played before him inspires him to work hard and dream big. It makes the game even more special to him.
My son is inspired by his dad and older brother both on and off the field. He looks up to them because they’ve shown him what hard work, discipline, and dedication can achieve. Watching them succeed motivates him to keep going, even when it’s tough. Off the field, they teach him how to carry himself with respect, humility, and heart—and he tries to follow that example every day.
One moment that made me incredibly proud was when my son shifted from running back to quarterback, a position he wasn’t familiar with. He’s always loved running the ball, so this was a big change for him. I once caught him in the backyard practicing by himself, going over plays and throwing passes. When I asked what he was doing, he said, “I have to practice so I don’t let my team down.” That moment showed me just how much heart, responsibility, and dedication he has to his teammates.
