She enjoys working towards improving her skills in each stroke to do the best she can. Each meet, Caroline sets her own personal goal to beat prior times and show sportsmanship towards her other teammates and competitors.
McKenzie Coan, a gold medalist US Paralympian, who has Osteogenesis Imperfecta just like Caroline. She sees everything that McKenzie has overcome and accomplished despite having OI, and she strives to be just like her.
The first time Caroline competed at a US Para swim meet she had so much joy on her face being on a pool deck with others that deal with various disabilities in their lives. She truly thrived in an environment where she could let her true self shine through. Caroline gives it her all at every meet whether, para or able bodied. Seeing her excel at meets where the playing field is more level is a true inspiration.
