Join the CompetitionCason replied, “it’s the only place in the world that I can truly escape and be myself. It’s not like the pressure of succeeding how it is in school, but a way to stand out and show your best abilities through sportsmanship and athletic skills. It gives you a reason to work harder to become better.”
I’d love to say family, but Cason has his own drive. He is always pushing to be better and find ways to make it possible. When at games, he likes to be recorded so he can look back and see his errors and ways to make improvements for future games. He has a passion for playing soccer. So, even with a supportive family behind him, he continues to push himself more than a family ever could.
A couple summers ago he had the opportunity to play soccer in Spain. I was unable to go. The team posted a video on Instagram and Cason was the center of the completely unknown group of fellow teammates, and counting down 3,2,1, let’s go! He was surrounded by kids from all backgrounds with language barriers. In just a short time he made friends and was leading the team on the field with excitement. Watching the reel made me smile, he’s his own authentic self and it shows on and off the field.
