What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Ballroom dancing is an anomaly in the world of sports and it's our interpretation that blends athleticism with art, musicality and tradition. However, it is subjectively judged requiring us to master technique, connection, stamina, and grace all while appearing effortless. So even when we don't win, we are winning fans and reshaping beyond what this sport can be! With no NIL, sponsorship or widely televised visibility, we still compete at the highest level.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

I would unequivocally say, Venus and Serena Williams! As the only African-American, sibling youth duo in our sport, we often feel overlooked and overwhelmed-but their legacy reminds us that resilience matters more than resources. Like them, we have faced economic disadvantages, systems, politics, and setbacks, but with no excuses, focus, and support from our friends and family we are inspired. Their journey is our blueprint

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

"Not knowing"! One of the most powerful parts of our journey has been not knowing. We were uncertain if we belonged in this sport; if we'd find support; or how far we could go. But sometimes, not knowing can be a gift! Once we entered what we thought was just another competition and danced with our heart--free from pressure or expectations. We became Vice Champions of the USA, and was unexpectedly invited to represent our country in Italy. That moment showed us not knowing can be a "leg up".
