What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

She loves to be challenged. Even at 8, she recognizes that sport is not easy and she intentionally seeks out challenging situations… for her, this looks like training with bigger, older, faster girls, which she’s been doing since she was 6. The sisterhood on the field, and living in a girl boost girl environment is where she thrives! She already loves sharing her passion for the sport with younger girls and helps at tryouts and community practices whenever she can!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Mia Scott who plays for AUSL Volt inspires her on the field. Off the field it’s her family… mom was a US National Gymnastics team member, dad, an WNBF body building pro, and brothers and sisters competed in swimming, football, baseball, soccer and Olympic lifting (among others)….most of all, it’s her middle brother, Hunter-23 He’s world ranked in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and they share a hunger for athletic progress and perfection and they are each other’s biggest fan and greatest motivator.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The day she had an “off day”. She cried at practice (NOT a cryer), she dropped an infield pop fly (routine catch), and she struck out. Twice. And I was more proud of her on a bad day than on her best day because she persevered… and because the next day she charged right back at it. She learned that disappointment was part of the journey that day and that she had been given a gift… and that just by giving it her all during every play, she was celebrating her gift. A proud moment indeed.
