What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Basketball and football shows his heart every time he plays. The way it pushes him to grow not just as an athlete, but as a person. It teaches him discipline, resilience, teamwork, to fight through challenges, and to never give up. He plays with passion, not just for the win, but for his team, his dreams, and the love of the game. Every moment on the court or field is a chance to be better, to lead with heart, and to leave it all out there, win or loose.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

His parents, are his greatest inspiration because we've taught him to persevere, no matter what life throws his way. We've shown him that life isn't always fair, but giving up is not an option. Challenges will come, but strength is found in how you face them. Through our love, sacrifices, and unwavering belief in him, he's learned that adversity isn't the end it's a test of character, a path to growth. Every time he chooses to keep going, he carries a piece of our lesson with him.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Chris was chosen to be on the best football team an opportunity many would have taken without hesitation. He made a choice. He chose to stay with the less experienced team, because loyalty and friendship meant more to him. He didn’t want to leave his friend, who was playing his very first season and really wanted to play with him. With Chris’s leadership and performance on the field, they went on to play the championship. That decision said everything about the kind of young man Chris is.
