What I love most about baseball is the feeling I get when I’m out on the field lol like nothing else matters. I love the sound of the bat hitting the ball, sliding into bases, and making awesome plays with my team. Every game is different and exciting, and I always feel like I’m learning something new. I also love being part of a team, working together, and celebrating big wins. Baseball is just fun, and it makes me feel confident and happy no matter what kind of day I’m having.
My dad is my biggest inspiration when it comes to baseball because he’s the one who first put a glove in my hand and taught me how to play. He always believes in me, even when I strike out or have a rough game. He shows me what it means to work hard, never give up, and be a good teammate. I’ve seen how much he loves the game, and that made me love it too. Whether we’re practicing in the backyard or he’s cheering from the stands, I always want to make him proud. He’s my built in coach!
Making our towns All-Star team was one of the highlights for sure. Acknowledging his ability to be one of the standouts in our area really gave him an extra push to keep practicing and not give up on the game he loves. He is the biggest cheerleader on his team and that makes me so proud for better or worse. He brings out the best in his teammates he supportive in every game and truly hype up the team for morale and energy boosts.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
